In cooperation with the University of Amsterdam's Centre for Urban Studies we, research master Urban Studies students, organised a photo exhibition around the rise of Istanbul. The exhibition was curated by Nicole de Groot. From March 22nd to the 29th we were in Istanbul to learn about the city's rapid development and some of the issues that have arisen. We attended several inspiring lectures at a number of Istanbul's universities and we explored many parts of the city. The photographs selected for the exhibition covered different issues relating to the current transformations taking place in Istanbul, including themes as gender, consumption, immigration and social movements. Below a selection of my photographs is shown.
